The room had its quirks-like a heater that blasted heat and a locked window, made ventilation a hassle. The bathroom was okay. The shower took a long time to warm up, and there were gaps in the weekday breakfast options, which left much to be desired-just jam, bread, and a few cereals. The overall ambiance felt a bit dated, and some common areas didn't quite meet expectations, especially with reports of rowdy groups in the bar area, which could make for an uneasy atmosphere at times.

Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend this place. Everything was good, kind staff, unbeatable location so close to the Christmas market, the beach and city center and centre. The room was comfy with bedroom as well as partial curtains and the overall experience for the price was really great.

I went to Bournemouth to see Ringo Starr at the bic and chose the Glendevon as it is just a few minutes walk from the venue at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was basic but clean and tidy and a good breakfast was provided next morning. There is slightly cheaper accomodation in the area but from what I have read this hotel is of a higher standard. Overall I would recomend the Glendevon for a short budget stay.
Although this is an excellent hotel, I would only stay here again for a short break. The problem is doors banging as people come and go, this went on until at least 2am and started up again at dawn. I put this down to inconsiderate guests but when I left my room next morning - I had to slam the door to make it close! So a good hotel for heavy sleepers.

Where it excels and where it fails
The staff showcased excellent politeness and were genuinely helpful, assisting with parking and other inquiries.
Unfortunately, the hotel decor was overwhelmingly mismatched.

Friendly staff
When we got back to the hotel after a meal out we thought we would have a drink in the bar but it was shut. Also did not get much sleep as there was lots of drunken men coming home at all hours of the night!!

The location offered convenient access to local attractions. The room needed significant refurbishment as it felt tired and was in need of attention. The breakfast options were limited, providing only continental choices which may not appeal to everyone.

The individual service made you feel special. The fantastic breakfast.
A couple arrived at 6.45am and were very noisey. They were joined by friends after around 10 minutes. No consideration for other guests sleeping.
